OSHA’s Safe and Sound Week Begins August 12-18th

Introduction

Safe + Sound Week , August 12-18 is a time to address workplace hazards, encouraging employers and workers to act as detectives to identify and resolve hazards. This nationwide event not only provides workplace resources to drastically limit injury and illness for businesses, but helps to raise awareness about health and safety of its workers.

Steps to Resolve Job Hazards

OSHA provides practical steps to find and fix job hazards that can be applied to maintain reputation and quality of business.

  1. Choose jobs to analyze
  2. Study and inspect all job steps
  3. Observe closely and identify health hazards
  4. Describe the causes and conduct incident investigations
  5. Establish controls
  6. Review your analysis and safety training

Why Participate in Safe + Sound Week?

Participating in Safe + Sound Week can enhance your existing safety program by helping to identify and manage hazards, increasing workplace quality and sustainability, and recognizing your safety achievements. It’s open to all organizations that want to show their safety commitment. Last year, over 3,900 businesses took part to promote worker health and safety.
